First Things First is a 27 Lesson Bible study Christian growth for new believers. It is designated to help you examine the Bible for yourself. It is suggested that you use one of the following versions of the Bible: the New American Standard Version. The New International Version, or the Revised Standard Version. The King James Version can also be used providing you are comfortable with its style of English. If you already have a Bible, begin your study using it, regardless of the version.
In each lesson you are introduced to a new subject. A series of inductive questions are given for you to answer. The references refer to the book, chapter, and verse e.g. HUJohn 3:16UH is the Gospel of HUJohn 3:16UH.
It is important to learn to use your Bible. If you cannot locate passage, look in the index at the front of your Bible. The page number for each book in the Bible is listed there.
Choose a time to complete each day’s lesson which will give you at least 30 minutes without interruption. Begin by spending 5 minutes in prayer. When you pray, thank Go for his forgiveness, ask His help in your Bible study, and pray for any personal needs.
