We use these for our camping trips and for food storage. Shelf life is listed at 25 years (that's long enough for me). At 11 pounds for this, the 56 servings breakfast and entree pack, you can feed 1 adult for 4 weeks or 4 for one week. All you need is water and one pan - a little fire wouldn't hurt.
They really are good tasting and I will attest to the fact that the meals will fill you up. My first try with these showed that I couldn't eat as much as I thought. Great to have for all those 'unknowns' in life; job loss, disasters, food shortages, etc. A really great item for camping, backpacking, hunting or fishing trips.
