SYNOPSIS A generational war exists between the kingdom of Afemai and Esan. Much blood has been shed, tired of all the war, the two kingdom decided to make peace, but the priestess of Afemai who later became the queen does not want this to happen. SAMPLE OF THE SCRIPT. EXT. KING'S COMPOUND- DAY. Lots of villagers came to celebrate the appointment of the new king. The young women dancing and singing traditional songs, the people are happy. Abievbode sat on his fathers throne, the priestess Adesuwa on another throne by his side. The elders sat on their respectfull seats before the new king, but Edegbe was no where to be found among the people. INT. EDEGBE'S HUT- CONTINUOUS. Edegbe laying on his mat, tears coming from his eyes, listening to all the voice of celebration within the compound. CROSSFADES. INT. PALACE- DAY. The senior elder was talking to king Abievbode. SENIOR ELDER: Your majesty if I may suggest. The advicer to your father our late king is dead, and you will need someone to be your advicer. If it pleases the king to let me and my fellow elders seek out of the kingdom of Afemai, a man of great wisdom and knowledge and present him before you oh king... ABIEVBODE: Thanks for your concern. But I already have a special advicer, one whose knowledge is greater than that of any man in this kingdom, my precious wife here your queen, she is my advicer. SENIOR ELDER: Yes your majesty. Pardon me if I am asking too much, but the king of Esan sent an assasin in form of a messenger to kill your father. What have you decided about it your majesty. ADESUWA: The god's have not spoken yet concerning this issue. As soon as they make their decision we will attack back.{ turns to Abievbode} By the way my love, where is your brother Edegbe? EXT. STREAM- CONTINUOUS. Prince Edegbe sat on a rock in front of the stream. He took pebble after pebble, casting it into the stream. Two of his personal guards stood at a distance away from him. An Afemai soldier approached the guards, whispered to one and left. The guard approached the prince. GUARD: Your presence is requested at the palace, great prince. INT. PALACE- CONTINUOUS. Prince Edegbe entered the palace. ABIEVBODE: Why were you not the celebration yesterday? EDEGBE: I was not well. But I am better now. ABIEVBODE: During the last battle with Esan. Father sent me on a mission to the king of Omojale. A very sensitive mission that father could not send a messenger, but sent me. I want you to go to Omojale with this { brought out something wrapped in a black cloth} and give it to the king himself. Two of my personal guards will go with you. EDEGBE: No, I'll go with my own guards. ABIEVBODE: No, my brother. This guards have been with me on this mission before, so they'll be more experienced than your guards. And they will see to it that no harm befalls you. INT. KING CHAMBER- NIGHT. Abievbode the king and his queen Adesuwa lay side by side on the bed, Staring into each others eyes. ADESUWA: You look worried, are you thinking about your brother? ABIEVBODE: No. ADESUWA: The god's have ordained things to be this way, my love. You are going to be one of the greatest kings Afemai has ever known. With me by your side, we'll do great things together. We will rule this kingdom as the god's intend it to be. EXT. FOREST- NIGHT. Insects chirping loudly into the night. Owl hoots. Prince Edegbe sleeping on a cloth spread on the ground. GUARD 1: He is fast asleep and very tired lets kill him now. GUARD 2: Not yet, lets move further away from Afemai. GUARD 1: We might not have another opportunity like this again. GUARD 2: Don't argue with me, I am in charge,the king put me in charge of this mission. EXT. OPEN GRASS LAND- DAY. The prince accompanied with the guards, moved slowly through the bush. Before them was a forest. EDEGBE: Thats another forest. GUARD 1: Yes my prince. EDEGBE: What lays ahead of that forest? GUARD 1: A stream. I hear it flows all the way to Esan and through five more villages. EDEGBE: That must be a large stream then. EXT. STREAM- CONTINUOUS. The three groups emerged from the forest. Before them was a stream. EDEGBE: I must take a bath. Guard 2 signals to Guard 1. Prince Edegbe approached the stream. Guard 1 rushed him, Edegbe turning instantly in time to see the attack dodged the sword, grabbed the guard. Disarmed him and drove the sword through his heart. Blood oozing out of the dead guard. Soon he was dead, lying in a pool of blood. The remaining guard watched the distance. EDEGBE: So my brother sent you with me to have me killed?...
