This is the original one of a kind blocked oil painting of Arum Lilies by the well known and celebrated artist Pieter de Beer from South Africa.
This painting of Arum Lilies honestly is one of my most favorite paintings from Pieter.
Although called the arum lily, it is neither an arum nor is it a lily. It is an excellent garden cut flower and lasts a long time in water. The genus is restricted to the African continent. In the Western Cape it is dormant in summer and in the summer rainfall areas it is dormant in winter. It will remain evergreen in both areas if growing in marshy conditions which remain wet all year around
