Right out of high school, Joe Connally marries the pregnant Olivia Jones because it is the right thing to do. When they lose the baby, they also lose the desire to stay in a marriage full of so much pain. Years later, Olivia has rebuilt her life as an interior designer and has landed the coverted job of restoring Mallengua, a stone mansion on an island off the coast of South Carolina. But much of her surprise the architect on the project is none other than Joe.
