The $70 Billion Pie
Sure, you probably know that
Amazon.com is the world’s biggest
online marketplace.
Amazon gets over 320 million
visitors every month. They have 125
million customers’ credit cards on file.
And Amazon is now exceeding
$6 billion per month in sales.
I think we can all agree that those are
some pretty big numbers. So big, in
fact, that it’s kinda hard to grasp what they
mean.
So consider this: Amazon will bring in more money this year than 44 of the world’s 182
COUNTRIES!
Here’s a great visualization of $1 Billion. Amazon makes 1 of those BIG stacks every 5
days.

Any way you look at it, it is a HUGE amount of money!

Your Piece of the Amazon Pie
The good news is that YOU can get a piece of the $70 billion Amazon pie.
You may remember that Amazon used to run quite a few television commercials, as well
as radio and print ads. But no more.
In 2002, Amazon decided to stop
running all of these advertisements and
instead use that capital to, among other
things, build their affiliate program.
Their program, Amazon Associates,
quickly became by far the most popular
affiliate program on the planet.
The way it works is very simple: you sign up for an account and Amazon gives you your
own affiliate code. You place this special link on your website (or post to social media, send in
email, etc.) and if someone clicks on that link and then buys something from Amazon within
the next 24 hours, you get a commission.
So how much do you get? Well, it
depends on how much you sell.
For “general products,†the affiliate’s
commission varies between 4.0% and 8.5%.
In the marketing world, we may be
used to hearing of 50-75% commissions on info
products. But for physical products, below 10%
is pretty standard.
It’s not a bad deal. But you CAN do much better.
