The cats Genie and Dapper, and Rex the dog are Icelandic through and through, besides being pranksters with a rich imagination for mischief.
In this book they visit the country where Genie tries to trick the farmer's bull and thinks she sees ghosts in the cowshed. Dapper is introduced to Happy Eggs for the first time and tastes some lovely warm milk straight from the cow. Rex tries out his balancing skills on a bale of hay and lends a helping hand rounding up the sheep.
The stories are in the form of rhymes which is an excellent way to build up a child's vocabulary. They are also told in simple language to suit the youngest readers.
