King James II and VII was the Last proper and legally ascended King of England and Scotland, but in 1688 Parliament, a body founded by King's authority ONLY, to help him rule in a more fair and equal manner, overthrew him and his son the Infant James Francis, Prince of Wales. Under the threat of death the King, his Queen and the Prince of Wales escaped to France. Eventually the throne was settled upon a distant 2 cousin, once removed. a man who was 55th in line to the throne and of virtually little royal blood, King George I of Hanover, the ancestor of the current royal family of usurpers.
Then the English went about the task of writing a false history claiming that the family ended with King James's Grandsons, but by secret means the line did survive, first in France, than Italy and finally to America.
