Sava Stojkov was born in 1925 in a suburb in Sombor, Serbia, Sava Stojkov's passion for painting grew as a child. Spending most of his free time outside, nature became his greatest creative inspiration.
He was driven to capture the beauty of the natural environment in hopes of preserving all the wonders the world has to offer. Painting quickly became a need, and his work eventually led him to Belgrade where he studied. The tranquility and peace he experienced in married life is embedded within the serenity of his art work.
He has exhibited at home and abroad, all over the world about 312 times, independently and in another 550 group exhibitions and has won numerous awards. The most significant awards were the biennial Grand Prix in Milan in 1980. The Award and the Yugoslav Biennial of Naive Art in Svetozarevo in 1982. year, the awards in Verona in 1982. year and in 1984. year, the biennial award for lifetime achievement in Jagodina in 1993. Masarikova year award in Prague in 1996. year.
