The book Entitled Contemporary Business Strategies and Models was written by Joe Ezenwa and published by Rock fields Nigeria Ltd in 2012 with ISBN:979-978-924-342-6.It was presented to the public officially through a launching and was reviewed by Tijani Oladipopo(C FA).
It contains 23chapters and came into existence as a result of several years of continuous research on business strategies and models as well as the experience of author as speaker in Management in such topics as Strategic Planning, Total Quality Management, Benchmarking, Business Ethics and Compliance, Change Management and Innovation, Performance Appraisal and Target Setting, Corporate Image and Attitude Improvement, Mergers and Acquisition amongst others at different Seminars/Workshops and/or Conferences.
It is a must read .It was well researched and is a compendium. In writing the book, the author adapted current Harvard Business models. However, in the course of his research, he discovered that most organizations failed because of their inability to effectively execute strategies they formulated. In trying to solve this problem, he has in this book highlighted the model and template for effective strategy execution which were adapted from Harvard Business Review. There is also problem of inability of some organizations to give clear definitions of their strategy statements. He has tried to find solution to this problem by presenting elements of a good strategy statement and how it can be effectively developed .
Other factors that necessitated the writing of this book are inability of corporate organizations to effectively adapt to ever changing business environment , resistance to change, abuse of principles of corporate governance and business ethics codes, bad leadership amongst others resulting to business failures in the world. Accordingly, he has tried to provide solutions to the aforementioned problems in this book.It is also true to say that most countries around the globe experience majority of the problems highlighted above.The . Hence, the book will impact positively on organizations around the world if there is encouraging readership.
