It is also very rare and I have never seen another one like this on sale anywhere else. It is an excellent collector's set and an impressive playing set.
The Bamboo ("Sou") and Coin ("Pin") suits have a unique design and the Character ("Man") suit, the Winds and the Dragons are embellished with motifs from a classic Japanese Hanafuda card deck.
Hanafuda = "flower card" in Japanese and is a card deck decorated with flowers that bloom in Japan each month of the year.
