Inca warriors took maca before battle for good reason. This nutritionally rich food that looks like a little turnip and grows up around 13000 feet is considered an adaptogen and is well known for its affect on hormones and energy. Personally I have found smaller amounts of maca throughout the day is best and we have added it in our baking to make excellent maca cookies and muffins that are super nutritious for the whole family. Eating maca that has been cooked is also much easier to digest since all our maca's we sell are RAW. This keeps all the nutrients and potency for you however for those with intestinal problems or just have difficulty digesting maca, we suggest you cook with it (as the peruvians do) or add it to boiling water such as in hot chocolate / coffee / or just boiling water with some milk and coconut sugar (let it sit in the boiling covered water to "cook" for easing digestion).
