From the clean air and clover fields of Northern Canada our bee pollen is exceptional. Running along the foot hills parkland of the canadian rockies we feel there is no better bee pollen than ours. This pollen is super sweet from the abundance of clover in the area and very popular with people who like to nibble on their pollen often! And of course we vacuum seal in the freshness upon receiving each years new crop (and do sell out) so stock up if your a bee pollen connoisseur!
Perhaps the most nutrient dense food available if the cellulose shell of the pollen is broken, it's been surmised you could survive eating just bee pollen for years! Bee pollen is truly a marvel of nature. High quality bee pollen has micro macro nutrients we don't even understand yet, and perhaps this explains the miraculous claims being made on it.
Dr lars Erik Essen, M.D. from Sweden states "Bee pollen exerts a profound biological effect. It seems to prevent premature aging of the cells and stimulates the growth of new skin tissue....It smooth's away wrinkles and stimulates a life giving blood supply to all skin cells".
The laboratory of apiary research near Paris France has conducted extensive nutritional research on bee pollen and stated "Hundreds of mice have demonstrated that bee pollen is a complete food and that it is possible to let several successive generations be born and live without the least sign of distress while nourishing themselves exclusively on bee pollen".
And seemingly a stretch but widely reported Dr Nicolai Tseitin, Russian chief biologist, at the academy of sciences examined 200 individuals near the Caucasus mountains who were reportedly over 125! (? huh?). Well apparently they were all bee keepers and ate the sweet crusty stuff on the bottom of the hives, having sold the nice clear honey. After examining the substance it was found to be mostly bee pollen and this is what he attributed to their longevity.
ALL i know is royalty tend to eat bee products (they have all through the centuries) and it just feels good for me. Us humans apparently don't have the enzymes to break the cellulose layer of the pollen, so besides nibbling we mix it with yogurt and place it in the fridge overnight using the yogurt to break the cellulose layer.
