This is one of a set of Indonesian primitive wood carving's I collected in the late 1970;s, early 1980's while living in Indonesia. I had local natives go out to the villages in Borneo and Sumatra and collect from the Dyak. Minningkaubau, and other tribes. Most of the carvings are carved from ironwood that insects don't infect and also don't crack due to humidity conditions. If you can fins similar in the antique and collectable shops in Singapore and Indonesia these carvings are selling for between USD $1500 and $2500. I am selling at a good discounts to anyone who collects primitive carvings and can appreciate that these type of works of art are no longer available. Most of the carvings I'm selling represent spirits that the Tribes are faithful to. Dyaks in their times were head hunters, takers. This carving is from Borneo. Wood is ironwood.
