Flaxseed Oil Contains Valuable Omega-3 Essential Fatty Acids
Flaxseed oil is one of nature's richest plant sources of essential fatty acids (EFAs). Flaxseed oil is rich in omega-3 in the form of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA).
In the body, ALA is converted into two other, more bioavailable fatty acids — eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). The American Heart Association has endorsed omega-3 fatty acids as good for the heart.
