This is a spelling unit consisting of the most used words in the English language. There are 30 lessons with each lesson consisting of 15 words. It is meant to be weekly lessons with the test on the last day. The test has several sentences and uses all the words from the spelling list. The students are expected to use correct punctuation as well as knowing the spelling words for the current week and those from previous weeks.
I used this unit in my classroom many years and then later as I homeschooled my grandchildren. Following are the words and sentences for the 5th lesson:
Words: them, write, would, like, so, these, her, long, make, thing, see, him, two, has, look
Test Sentences:
1. Would you like to write them?
2. It took so long for him to make these.
3. He has to make her smile.
4. That thing I see is for him.
