Start the New Year on the right track with a plan to read God's Word this
year!
I developed this plan for my own use six years ago, and have been
following it ever since.
It has been a real blessing to me, and even though I have now followed
this plan for so long, I still come across verses that speak to me differently
this time.
New meaning jumps out from them - God's Word never gets old or boring!
If you're a long term Christian, or someone just curious about the Christian
faith, this Bible Reading Plan will be a great help to you.
I was going to Bible Studies and only reading a short passage of Scripture
and then reading someone else's guide to interpretation of it. I came to
realise that I was reading more ABOUT the Bible than I was actually
reading the Word itself.
I was singing Scripture choruses, such as "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet
and a light unto my path," without really having the Light of the Word on my
path, just walking in the shadow of what someone else said was in it.
This plan contains no comments or devotionals; it is simply a guide to
reading the Word in a systematic way.
Each page is a month with readings for each day from Psalms, Proverbs,
the New Testament and all the other books of the Old Testament.
There is a column beside each section where you can tick when you have
done the reading. If for some reason, you get a bit behind, you can see at a
glance where you're up to and read a bit extra for the next week or two until
you catch up.
By the end of the year you will have read the whole of the Old Testament
once, the book of Proverbs 12 times, the book of Psalms six times, and the
New Testament twice.
I draw great strength each day from the time I spend with my Heavenly
Father and Creator in His Word.
This could make a very useful Christmas or New Year's gift for anyone with an interest
in reading the Bible for themselves.
