This Japanese toy xylophone appears to date to the 1950s or 1960s, and is made of wood with steel keys. There are no maker's marks.
As shown, there is some wear and quite a lot of stuck-on dust, but the only damage is that the elastic strings that cushion the keys have broken and deteriorated away. Otherwise, the wooden frame is fully intact and structurally firm. Sorry no mallets.
